About: Sumandeep Kaur is currently fellow at Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla. She has her PhD on “Confronting the Community in the Post 90s: A Study of Nadeen Aslam’s Fiction” from Punjabi University, Patiala. She writes in both Punjabi and English and has published in journals, such as South Asian Ensemble, Dialog, Sambalpur Studies in Literature and Cultures, Choupal, Literary Insight: A Refereed International Journal and renowned Punjabi journal Hun. She has also published in newspapers, such as Punjabi Tribune and Punjab Times. She has presented papers in various seminars and conferences. Her research and publications mainly focus on the question of community and identity. Her paper entitled “Ecological Concerns in Select Punjabi Fiction” was accepted for 36th Bi-Annual Punjab Research Group Conference, held at Wolfson College, University of Oxford. |
