About the Journal

Summerhill: IIAS Review is an academic review, bi-annual, double-blind journal published by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, with its first issue rolling out in 1994. The principle feature is a rich section of reviews of important recent publications in humanities and social sciences. Articles by well-known scholars and interviews with prominent intellectuals and artists add to the interest of the review for the general reader.

Aims and Scope:

Summerhiill: IIAS review is an academic review, bi-annual, double-blind journal. The primary goal of the journal is to maintain high-quality publications. The principal feature is a rich section of reviews of important recent publications in humanities and social sciences. The journal should project this in three ways: Critical, quality reviews of the publications of the Institute by eminent specialists from outside, reviews of important outside publications in their special areas by the Fellows, and a dialogue between the authors of our publications and their reviewers. Articles submitted by well-known scholars and interviews with prominent intellectuals and artists add to the interest of the review for the general reader.
