About<\/strong>: Vijaya Ramaswamy was professor of History in Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, till 2018. She won the British Council Award in 1981 and in 1988 was awarded the Fulbright Senior Fellowship for Berkeley, California. In 1998, she received the Indo-Shastri fellowship award. She was Partner Investigator of the UPE 2 project on \"<\/span><\/b>Asian Crossroads: Indian Neighbourhoods, Asian Connections<\/span><\/b>\u00a0led by Prof. Makarand Paranjpe as Primary Investigator from 2015-2018.\u00a0 In 2017, she was co-recipient of the prestigious Australian Discovery International Award for 2017-2020.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Her major publications include\u00a0Textiles and Weavers in South Indian History<\/i>;\u00a0Walking Naked: Women, Society, Spirituality in South India: The Historical Dictionary of the Tamils\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0\u00a0The Song of the Loom.\u00a0 Walking Naked: Women, Society, Spirituality in South India,\u00a0<\/i>published by the IIAS,\u00a0\u00a0<\/i>won the Best Woman Historian Award in 2000.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
