About<\/strong>: M.A., M. Phil and Ph. D. (Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi). Her broader area of research is Tribal Studies and Environmental History. In her Doctoral thesis she has worked on \u201cidentity formation among the Gujjars of Himachal Pradesh: encounters and challenges in Colonial Period.\u201d She has worked on Gujjar community of Himachal Pradesh.
\nShe has been the recipient of a number of Fellowships \u2212 Post Doctorate Fellowship from Indian Council of Historical Research on, \u201cHistorical Perspectives of colonial forest Acts and their impact on pastoralist Gujjars of Himachal Pradesh.\u201d She was also the recipient of the Post Doctoral Fellowship from Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) entitled, \u201cGujjar Women in Himachal Pradesh: A study of their Social and Cultural Impact on Society.\u201d Recently she is also been awarded Junior Fellowship from Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) on \u201cEnvironment, Natural Resources and Gujjars community of Himachal Pradesh\u201d.
\nShe has published a number of papers in the Proceedings of Indian History Congress and in the Proceedings of Punjab History Congress. She has also published a paper in the Journal of Himachal Pradesh University Shimla (Himalayan Journal). She has also published in the International journal of Social sciences published online.
\nAt IIAS she is working on Erosion of lower Himalayan Range i.e. Siwalik Range. This range is continuously eroded and this process of erosion began in the Colonial period. Colonial reports however blamed the Gujjars for this erosion. She is looking at soil erosion issue vis-\u00e0-vis the Gujjar community<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
