About: Dr. Shaminaj Khan is a scholar in the field of Sanskrit Drama Literature, specializing in gender issues within Sanskrit literature. She completed her doctoral studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, focusing on Female Sexuality in Classical Sanskrit Dramas. Dr. Khan's academic journey has taken her to various prestigious institutions around the world, including a visiting scholar role at Universität Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain, as part of the Erasmus+ Mobility Program. She has also been recognized as an Infosys Fellow at the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute in Pune and received a Doctoral Fellowship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).Notably, Dr. Khan holds the distinction of being the inaugural recipient of The Ambedkar Sanskrit Fellowship, generously funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation at Columbia University in New York. Her academic career includes positions as an Assistant Professor at Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi, and as a Reader in Hindi Language at Columbia University in the United States. Dr. Khan's work continues to contribute significantly to the study of Sanskrit literature and its intersection with gender studies.
