Research Project A Study on the doctrine of Rājadharma in the light of contemporary society with special reference to Sanskrit Literary Tradition.
About:Dr. Nibedita Banerjee is a Sanskrit scholar currently serving as a fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla. Her Ph.D. research focuses on the methodology of Navya-Nyāya language as employed in Rasagaṅgādhara by Paṇḍitarāja Jagannātha.
She previously worked as an Assistant Professor at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru Campus, where she taught value-based education and Indian culture to B.Tech and M.Tech students. Additionally, she served as a Research Associate on a National Human Rights Commission-funded project and as a Resource Person for the Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti under the Ministry of Education.
Dr. Banerjee contributed to the development of Anuvādinī, the first Indian global voice and document AI tool, under the Ministry of Education. She also worked as a Research Assistant for a UGC-funded project that critically analyzed Nyāyābodhinī, with a special focus on Navya-Nyāya language and methodology.
Her achievements have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the “Vraja Bhushan Award” (2023) and “The Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Smriti Sanman” (2024). She was also a recipient of “The Talented Children in Rural Areas scholarship Award” from the Government of West Bengal in 2005.
She has published over 3 books, 21 research articles and has organized more than seven national and international seminars and workshops. With expertise in Rasagaṅgādhara and Rasa theory, knowledge of five ancient scripts Brāhmī, Nāgarī, Sāradā, Oriyā, and Grantha, and a deep interest in Indian classical music and drawing, Dr. Banerjee continues to enrich the field of Indic knowledge systems through her research and scholarly contributions.
