He obtained his Ph.D. from Benaras Hindu University. He has been awarded Senior Fellowship by Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi and short-term fellowship by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla.

In about forty years of teaching and research, he has written seven books and edited five books. He has contributed more than 100 articles in National and International journals. He is the Chief Editor of Dārśanik Traīmāsik, a quarterly Journal of Akhil Bhartiya Darshan Parishad. He was the chief editor of Journal of Indian Council of Philosophical Research (JICPR). He is also the Chief Editor of “Philosophical Quest”.

He has received J.P. Lokanayak Samman from the Vice-President of India and Vidya Bhushan award from Vidwat Parishad, Varanasi for his consistent and continued contributions to Academic activities. A Felicitation Volume entitled “Dimensions of Applied Philosophy” has been published by Akhil Bhartiya Darshan Parishad to honour his contributions. He was a member of the executive committee of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi and presently he is a member of jury committee of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. He was member of the executive committee of Indian Council of Social Science Research, Indian Council of Historical Research, Delhi and Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla.

He visited in connection with academic work and attended several seminars and philosophical conferences in world acclaimed academic institutions like University of Manitoba, Canada, Oxford, Cambridge, Yorkshire, London University, U.K., Seoul University, South Korea, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, Iran Cultural House, Tehran University, Iran, Centre for Indic Studies, Dartmouth and Pittsburgh University, Princeton University and Harvard University, U.S.A.

“Sīmānt Naītikatā” (Subaltern Morality) is his new contribution in the field of Applied Philosophy.
