| About: Dr. P. Arunachalam was an Emeritus Professor from 1st June 2023 to 31st July, 2024, Department of Applied Economics, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi-22, Kerala State, India. I am the Joint Secretary of Indian Economic Association (IEA). I am the Tamil Nadu State Convener of Swadeshi Sanatan Sangh Bharat (SSS), New Delhi. I am the Chief Economic Advisor to Sri Narendra Modiji Educational Services and Research Centre (SNMESRC), Chithambarapuram, Kalakad, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, Managed by Swadeshi Sanatan Sangh Bharat. I was the Head of the Department of Applied Economics, Cochin University of Science and Technology three times during the period 2004 to 2007, 2013-2016 and 2018 to end of 2023. I was the Academic Council Member of CUSAT during all my headship period. I have thirty-seven years of Teaching and Research Experiences. I was also the Chairman, Board of Studies, Department of Applied Economics, CUSAT during 2018 to 2023. I had joined as Lecturer, Department of Applied Economics, Cochin University of Science and Technology in the year 1989, become Reader in the year 1997 and Professor in the year 2005. I had my PG Degree from Loyola College, Madras, M.Phil and Ph.D Degrees from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, Kerala State. I did my Post Doctoral Training Work in the Development Research Institute (IVO), Tilburg University, the Netherlands during the period 1999 to 2004. Part of my Research Training Programme, I had visited more than 25 countries. I have participated about 493 national, international conferences and webinars as a Keynote speaker, chair, panel member and discussant. I have published about 181 research articles in national and international journals and edited books. I have written two books and edited 24 books on various issues. I did one minor project and two major projects. I have produced 23 Ph.Ds, valuated 600 Ph.D theses and conducted viva voce for 450 scholars. I am a Member of board of studies of many universities and colleges in all over India. I have 10 academic awards including Atmanirbhar Bharat Award 2022, and Rashtriya Pratishtha Puruskaar Award 2022. | |
