About:Dr. Saiyed Daud Rizvi is a Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, where he is pursuing advanced research in Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poetry. His current project explores the concept of nationalism, with a focus on critical and creative expressions in Hindi writing. He earned his Ph.D. in Hindi in 2024 from the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. His doctoral research critically examined contemporary perspectives in Hindi literary criticism, analyzing the intersections of modernity, drama, and society. Prior to this, he completed his M.A. in Hindi at EFLU in 2015 and his B.A. (Hons.) in History at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in 2013. Dr. Rizvi’s creative and academic writings have been widely published in national and international journals. His poems ‘Itna Sa Jeevan’ (2018) and ‘Pehchaan’ (2019) were published by ‘Andhra Hindi Academy’, reflecting his engagement with poetic expression. His critical works include essays such as “Dharm aur Shiksha: Asghar Wajahat ke Natak Ishwar[1]Allah ke Sandarbh Mein”, “Inna ki Awaaz: Charitra aur Satta ka Prateek”, and “Samay ki Avdharnaen: Sahitya mein Arthchayayen”, published in ‘Setu’ journal (Pittsburgh). These writings highlight his deep engagement with themes of religion, education, society, power, and temporality in literature. He has participated in numerous national and international seminars and conferences, presenting research papers on modern Hindi literature and literary criticism. He also serves as an editorial board member of the International Research Journal of India. Dr. Rizvi’s research interests span modern Hindi literature and criticism, drama and theatre studies, comparative literature, and the study of language and society. Through his academic contributions, he continues to advance critical discourse in Hindi literary studies while fostering a deeper understanding of literature’s role in reflecting and shaping social realities
